Funeral services for President Thomas S. Monson, will
be held in the Conference Center on Temple Square Friday, January 12, 2018, at
12:00 p.m. MST. The funeral will be open to the public ages 8 and upi
President
Monson died from causes incident to age on January 2, 2018, in Salt Lake City
at the age of 90. (Read more about his life.) He was the 16th president in
the 187-year history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and
served as its president since February 3, 2008.
The
funeral services will be broadcast live via MormonNewsroom.org, mormontabernaclechoir.org, LDS.org ,
KSL TV, the KSL TV app, BYUtv, BYUtv Global, KBYUtv Eleven, BYUtv
International, Mormon Channel, Canal Mormón (Spanish) and on
the Church satellite system.
In
addition, audio broadcasts will air on KSL Radio and BYU Radio.
A private burial service will take place at
the Salt Lake City Cemetery following the funeral.
Expressions
of sympathy can be posted on the President Monson Facebook page or emailed to condolences@ldschurch.org.
In
lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humanitarian Aid Fund or the
Church’s General Missionary Fund at give.lds.org/monson

Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults
January 14, 2018
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the First Presidency and his wife, Sister Harriet Uchtdorf, will speak at a worldwide devotional for young adults on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. mountain standard time. The Uchtdorfs will be speaking on the adventure of mortality. The broadcast will originate in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will be transmitted live on the Church satellite system, LDS.org, and other mSaturday, January 20th - 9:00 am - 11:30 am at the Waltann Building. This is for all Primary Girls age 8-11.

Self Reliance Services Fireside
Sunday, January 21st - 6:00 pm. At the Stake Center in the Cultural Hall. This will be the beginning of the next session of the Self Reliance Services groups that will run thereafter for 12 weeks. All are invited to attend. The four areas of focus are:

Thursday, February 1st - 7:00 pm. This is a workshop sponsored by the Stake Relief Society for the Sisters of the Stake. It will be held in the Relief Society Room at the Stake Center. All sisters are invited to attend.
Face to Face Event for Youth with President Nelson
Saturday, Feb 3rd, 11:00 am - President Russell M. Nelson and his wife, Wendy, will participate in a Face to Face event for youth. The questions for this event will come from President Nelson’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Youth ages 12–18, their leaders, and their families are invited to participate. It can be viewed on LDS.org, YouTube, or the LDS Youth Facebook page.
The Face to Face with President and Sister Russell M. Nelson will be rebroadcast at the Stake Center Cultural Hall on Wednesday, February 28 at 7pm. You are invited to join us that evening for your youth activity, ages 12+.
This is an optional activity and we understand if you have other things already planned for that evening.

Jackson Gardner
He has received his mission called to serve in the Japan Tokyo Mission
Robert & Marilyn Llewellyn of the Shadow Mountain Ward have been called to serve in the Maryland Baltimore Mission. They will report to the MTC on April 16, 2018. They will serve for 18 months.
John and Carole Blood of the Desert Ridge Ward have been called to serve as Nauvoo Illinois Temple missionaries. They will begin their mission on April 27, 2018.
