January Relief Society Activity
Speed Friendshipping in the cultural hall on January 9th, 7:00PM.  
We'll be playing a fun game to get to know the sisters of our ward better.  
Also that night, we will be collecting gently used women's-only clothing to benefit the women at ViVRe Recovery Housing.  Clean out those closets for the new year!  
Guthrie made cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa will be served.

Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults

January  14, 2018 
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the First Presidency and his wife, Sister Harriet Uchtdorf, will speak at a worldwide devotional for young adults on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. mountain standard time. The Uchtdorfs will be speaking on the adventure of mortality. The broadcast will originate in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will be transmitted live on the Church satellite system, LDS.org, and other mSaturday, January 20th - 9:00 am - 11:30 am at the Waltann Building. This is for all Primary Girls age 8-11.

Self Reliance Services Fireside 
Sunday, January 21st - 6:00 pm. At the Stake Center in the Cultural Hall. This will be the beginning of the next session of the Self Reliance Services groups that will run thereafter for 12 weeks. All are invited to attend. The four areas of focus are:
Personal Finances
Education for a Better Work
My Job Search / Finding a Better Job
Starting and Growing my Business

 Workshop on Depression 
Thursday, February 1st - 7:00 pm. This is a workshop sponsored by the Stake Relief Society for the Sisters of the Stake. It will be held in the Relief Society Room at the Stake Center. All sisters are invited to attend.

Face to Face Event for Youth with President Nelson 
Saturday, Feb 3rd, 11:00 am - President Russell M. Nelson and his wife, Wendy, will participate in a Face to Face event for youth. The questions for this event will come from President Nelson’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Youth ages 12–18, their leaders, and their families are invited to participate. It can be viewed on LDS.org, YouTube, or the LDS Youth Facebook page.

MISSIONARY UPDATE
Jackson Gardner 
He has received his mission called to serve in the Japan Tokyo Mission


Kira Gedris of the Granite Reef Ward has been called to serve in the Finland Helsinki Mission. She will report to the MTC on December 6th.
Robert & Marilyn Llewellyn of the Shadow Mountain Ward have been called to serve in the Maryland Baltimore Mission. They will report to the MTC on April 16, 2018. They will serve for 18 months.
John and Carole Blood of the Desert Ridge Ward have been called to serve as Nauvoo Illinois Temple missionaries. They will begin their mission on April 27, 2018.
