Sacrament Meeting

Brandon Inman - talked about setting goals and the steps he took at setting new goals and establishing routines."Begin with the end in mind"

“Over the years, I have observed that those who accomplish the most in this world are those with a vision for their lives, with goals to keep them focused on their vision and tactical plans for how to achieve them. Knowing where you are going and how you expect to get there can bring meaning, purpose, and accomplishment to life.

It is important to differentiate between a goal and a plan. A goal is a destination or an end, while a plan is the route by which you get there.

Goal setting is essentially beginning with the end in mind. And planning is devising a way to get to that end. A key to happiness lies in understanding what destinations truly matter—and then spending our time, effort, and attention on the things that constitute a sure way to arrive there.

It is good to have goals and plans for our careers, for our education, even for our golf game. It is also important to have goals for our marriages, our families, and our Church councils and callings. But our greatest and most overriding goals should fit into Heavenly Father’s eternal plan for us to return to His presence and receive eternal life.

I believe that one important key to happiness is to learn how to set our own goals and establish our own plans within the framework of our Heavenly Father’s eternal plan. If we focus on the Lord’s path for us, we will inevitably qualify to return to His presence and receive the eternal blessings that come from making and keeping covenants.” M Russell Ballard

Jill Brimhall - spoke on personal revelation and how it has helped her to set goals
Jill Shared thoughts from James  Allen's book “As A Man Thinkith”
practical philosophy of successful living has awakened millions to the discovery and perception of the truth that "they themselves are makers of themselves." Building on the Bible verse. "As a man thinketh, so he is," Allen insists that it is within the power of each person to form his own character and create his own happiness.

Jill also shared how her patriarchal blessing has been a guide to helping her set goals

Special Musical number - vocal solo by Holly Anthony “Mary’s Lullaby” accompanied by Pam Jones

John Dahl - Spoke on family history. He encouraged us to seek after your kindred dead. Our family members and our ancestors await for us to do the work.

Remember the old Book of Remembrance ? Well Familysearch.org has become an online worldwide Book of Remembrance.

John also encouraged us to download the app  "Take a Name"

John encouraged us to just do our best and we will be blessed for our efforts. In a letter from the First Presidency this year indicated that the responsibility for Family History and Temple Work falls under the direction of the Elders Quorum. He encouraged us to start by just signing onto Family Search and begin. Remember, that as a member of the church you have access to so many tools. You have access to ancestry.com. My Heritage.com and other popular genealogy research sites.
