Sacrament Meeting
Ethan Smart shared his testimony of how the Book of Mormon
is important in helping him follow the Savior and he finds that studying helps
improve his attitude and he get more done.
He shared a thought that keeps him returning to the Book of Mormon. When he doesn’t read the thought came to him
that “Satan’s happy!”. Now this is his
reminder when he doesn’t feel like reading….Satan’s happy!
Brother Buddy
Youngreen was a guest to our ward, visiting his friends, Daryl and Karly
Williams. He is devoted to learning all
he can about Joseph Smith and in 1972 was instrumental in reuniting the Joseph
and Hyrum Smith families. He shared the
many parallels between Joseph Smith’s life with the Savior’s. Both were martyrs. Both started sharing their faith at a young age. Both were tempted by Satan and both revealed
their missions to women. Christ to the
woman at the well and Joseph to Emma Hale.
They were restorers, challenged authority, predicted their own death and
associated with the common people. Both
shared the sacrament and hymns before their deaths, wept for the people they
loved, forgave their killers and and both shared as their last words, quotes that
their prosecutors understood. Joseph
quoted a distress call from the Mason’s and Christ the words of David recorded
in the 22nd Psalms.

Book of Mormon Scripture Study Class
The full time missionaries sponsor a Book of Mormon class.
The class is held on Sunday Evenings from 5-6:00 pm in the Relief Society Room at the Shea Building
The teacher is Daryl Williams of the Mountain View Ward. The lessons are for those who want a better understanding of the Book of Mormon and is suitable for both life-long members and those who do not attend the church, whether members or not. It is ideal for people who do not feel like they ready to attend a worship service, but are interested in the Church. The dress is casual. The class covers the Book of Mormon in one year, so it provides a more in-depth look at the book than typical of a Gospel Doctrine class and makes the class suitable for both long-time students of the scriptures and beginners.
