Sacrament Meeting 9:00 am

Just a Thought . . . .

Sacrament Meeting

Deborah Inman spoke about the many gifts that God has given to us - we each need to stop and notice the many blessings in our lives

MaryAnn Davis & Jay Gardner spoke on Personal Revelation

MaryAnn Davis
reminded us of the importance of preparing yourself to receive personal revelation through the  Sanctification of the sacrament

 It shouldn't be hard to sit very still
And think about Jesus, his cross on the hill,
And all that he suffered and did for me;
It shouldn't be hard to sit quietly.

It shouldn't be hard, even though I am small,
To think about Jesus, not hard at all

 I think of the miles he walked in the dust,
And children he helped to love and to trust;
It shouldn't be hard to sit tall in my seat,
To listen politely, to quiet my feet.

If you want to talk to God - pray.
If you want God to talk to you - read the scriptures.

We each need to sanctify ourselves by studying the scriptures and preparing ourselves to worthily take the sacrament

Jay Gardner

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints come to know truth for themselves through personal revelation. As we seek truth, we must prepare ourselves to receive personal revelation. Personal preparation is necessary if we are to be ready and worthy of God's help. We can prepare ourselves through faith, scripture study, obedience, sacrifice and prayer.
 Alma 5:26 And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?

All of us are “in the dash.” But, you may be thinking, “I’ve got plenty of time to record my life story for my posterity. Why start now? Why this year?”  “Journals are a way of counting our blessings and of leaving an inventory of these blessings for our posterity”
