Mt. View Sunday Summary

Sacrament Meeting Minutes

Patriotism was the theme of our Sacrament Meeting.   Tom Wotring shared with us
that patriotism is not only a love for the country we live in but is our support of that country.   Patriotism works with the government and religion to make a country strong.   Government is how a country is run, religion is in our government (on money, in courts, in our literature and in our history).  If we need to show patriotism through service, through our music and literature everyday.
Shane Hatch reminded us that the doctrine of freedom was first taught in Heaven when we learned and used agency to obtain freedom to be part of God's plan.   Shane shared quotes from many of the founding fathers of the United States to help us understand how this country was formed under the inspiration of  Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  God has everything to do with our freedom and our freedom relies on our keeping virtuous and having good morals.

PERSONAL STUDY

July 15–21

Acts 10–15

“The Word of God Grew and Multiplied”

The Gospel Is for All People

Peter came to learn that the blessings of the gospel are meant for people everywhere. The Church today is composed of a variety of people from many different backgrounds.
Revelation—Line upon Line
Peter’s diligence allowed him to gain a greater understanding of the vision described in Acts 10. As we patiently seek guidance from the Lord and heed the promptings of the Spirit, we too can gain a deeper understanding of the things the Lord would have us know.
I’m a Christian
In Acts 11:26 we read about Church members being called Christians. Names can carry great meaning. In our day, the Lord has revealed that the name of His Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
