Sacrament Meeting Minutes
Doug Driggs, President of the Deacon's Quorum spoke on the blessings that come to youth as they make and keep priesthood ordinaces.
Donna Durkalec spoke on the priesthood, specifically on how it relates to women in the church. She identified many women who have used priesthood power to bring about great things in the world; Our Heavenly Mother, Eve, Mary Magdaline, Mary and Martha, and Sister Nelson. Whe reminded us that the RS was set up to help women receive and use gifts of the priesthood. Motherhood is a priesthood power of creation granted to women and in the temple women hold and use priesthood keys to administer ordinances.
Eric Watson shared the April talk by Brother Homer, "Hearing His Voice". Referring to scriptures he reminded us that we should listen to good voices, not those that are convenient or as Korahor did, those that are "Pleasing to the carnal mind." (Alma 49)
Impressions given by the Holy Ghost help us hear the word of God. It will be a small, quiet voice. As we learn to listen we will hear more. Sometimes that voice will be slow in coming because it is not the right time for us to hear the answers, because an answer is not needed or because the Lord knows we can choose right for ourselves. We must have patience and seek good voices in more than one place.

Personal Study
June 24–30
Matthew 28; Mark 16; Luke 24; John 20–21
“He Is Risen”
To many observers, the death of Jesus of Nazareth may have seemed like an ironic end to a remarkable life. Wasn’t this the man who raised Lazarus from the dead? Hadn’t He withstood the murderous threats from the Pharisees time after time? He had demonstrated power to heal blindness, leprosy, and palsy. The very winds and the seas obeyed Him. And yet here He was, hanging from a cross, declaring, “It is finished” (John 19:30). There may have been some sincere surprise in the mocking words “He saved others; himself he cannot save” (Matthew 27:42). But we know that Jesus’s death was not the end of the story. We know that the silence of the tomb was temporary and that Christ’s saving work was just beginning. He is found today not “among the dead” but among the living (Luke 24:5). His teachings would not be silenced, for His loyal disciples would preach the gospel in “all nations,” trusting His promise that He would be “with [them] alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:19–20).
