"Let us all show gratitude to our Savior for our many blessings"

"Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of heaven and helps us feel God's love," President Monson

"We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude," President Monson

“Gratitude is of the very essence of worship. … When you walk with gratitude, you do not walk with arrogance and conceit and egotism, you walk with a spirit of thanksgiving that is becoming to you and will bless your lives." President Gordon B. Hinckley

Tithing Settlement
This is a wonderful opportunity to visit with Bishop Jones
Tithing Settlement will take place
currently thru - Tuesday November 27

During the month of December give as the Savior gave, beginning with a worldwide day of service on December 1. Then consider other ways you can light the world, your community, your family, and your faith.
As part of the Light the World campaign, vending machines are being placed in only 5 locations in the world, one of these giving machines will be placed in GILBERT, AZ - the others are the Philippines, NYC, SLC and London.

 Here are a couple of video clips from last years campaign . . . . . .

For Arizona, the machines and the Light the World display will be installed on November 26-27 in Downtown Gilbert
(across from the Hale Theatre - 50 W. Page Ave, Gilbert, AZ 85233. Gilbert Rd just north of Elliot. Approximately a 35 minute drive from Paradise Valley Stake Center) , and officially launched on Thursday, November 29th.  It is estimated the machines will operate until Dec 24th.  The machines will be staffed by full time missionaries in street clothes from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm.
This year’s AZ charity partners included in the vending machines in Gilbert are:

  • UNICEF (https://www.unicef.org/)
  • Care.org (https://www.care.org/)
  • Helen’s Hope Chest (Mesa, “store” for foster children)
  • St. Mary’s Food Bank (Primary food distributor to nonprofits serving the west valley in Maricopa County and 10 other counties)
  • A New Leaf (Mesa, Glendale, Phoenix, homeless, foster care, domestic violence, behavioral help, financial literacy etc.)
  • United Food Bank (Primary food distributor to nonprofits in the east valley in Maricopa County and the four counties south and east )
What an amazing opportunity we have to share the love of the Savior. The Savior was a doer. You don't hear much about him taking naps or sleeping in, but you do hear about him healing, giving and sharing. This year I hope that everyone is inspired by the #lighttheworld campaign to try harder to follow him. Like an advent calendar we can each open ourselves up to new experiences of loving and serving and giving everyday. These #lighttheworld vending "GIVING" machines are such a wonderful way to get families excited about sharing our many blessings with others in need. Last year these machines helped to raise over $500,000 for our brothers sisters in need. What a wonderful opportunity for us to #lighttheworld
