As many of you know Bishop Russell Taylor was called to serve in the
Stake Presidency of the Paradise Valley Stake.
We are so grateful for Bishop Taylor and his counselors
Brother Wayne Breshears and Brother Ed Packard
and the love, service and direction they have given to our ward over the last 4 years.
We will continue to be blessed by President Taylor serving in the Stake Presidency.

Sunday, March 18th, 7:00 PM at the Mesa Alma Stake Javelina Building, 2300 W. Javelina, Mesa. Raised as a Protestant and a convert to the restored Gospel at age 33, Johanna Newbury will share her traumatic but life changing near death experience and the blessings and gifts resulting from physical challenges and adversity. She is a member of the Mountain Point Stake in Draper, Utah.
Youth Choir
Enthusiastic primary singers and youth ages 8-18 are invited to participate in a special children’s and youth choir that will be performing The Miracle and Gethsemane at The Easter Open House and Devotional on March 25th. In addition the primary and youth choir will be joining other community choirs in singing He is Risen and Christ the Lord is Risen Today as the opening and closing song for the devotional.
Practices will be held TODAY March 18th and March 25th from 5-6 pm
at the Stake Center.
In the spirit of inclusion, if you have kids in primary who are younger than 8 who want to come, know the two songs well, and you feel they would be mature enough to participate, they are welcome.

The official Friends of Scouting drive is underway in the Mountain View Ward. The cost for Boy Scouts of America to support each scout is approximately $175 per year. Mesa Arizona Easter Pageant

Wed-Fri March 21-23, & Tue-Sat March 27-31 (English), Sat, March 24 (Spanish) at 8:00 pm every night. Experience the story of Jesus Christ’s birth, ministry, selfless death, and miraculous Resurrection through music, dance, and drama. Free tours of the Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors’ Center are offered before and after the pageant.
Friday, March 23rd - As a gift to everyone around the world who will be celebrating the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Messiah concert will be live streamed over the Internet on Friday, March 23, and will available for viewing for the following week. April 2018 General Conference
March 31 - April 1
April General Conference - All members of the Church are invited to participate in the 188th Annual General Conference of the Church. The First Presidency, members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and other General Authorities and General Officers of the Church will deliver messages of inspiration and guidance in six sessions:
General Priesthood Session for priesthood holders will be Saturday, September 30th, at 5:00 pm.
General Sessions for individuals and families will be Saturday, March 30th and Sunday, October 1st, at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.
NOTE: There is no General Womens Session. This will be held in conjunction with the October General Conference and replace the General Priesthood Session.
Stake YM & YW 50-Mile Bike Ride - has been changed to Saturday April 14. Everyone meet at the Waltann building parking lot by 6 am where we will load the bicycles onto trailers for transport to the starting location (bring blankets to separate the bikes on the trailers). At the end of the ride we will return the bikes to the same location. Wards will need to provide transportation for riders from Waltann to both the starting and finishing area. We will also have a 15 mile practice ride on Saturday March 10 at 7:30 am at the west parking lot of Paradise Valley Park (north of Paradise Valley High School). Open to all youth 12+. Helmets are required

We have once again combined the missionaries for the
Mountain View and Paradise Valley Wards.
Elder Bingham has been transferred and Elder Lente is joining Elder Stevens and will serve in Mountain View and Paradise Valley Wards.
The missionaries are going to keep all March dinner appointments, but ask that Mountain View Ward dinner times for March move to 6pm.
Starting in APRIL we will have ODD numbered days - so we will have half as many days available to feed the missionaries. We would invite you to sign up early. April calendar is LIVE

MISSIONARY UPDATES
• Robert & Marilyn LLewellyn of the Shadow Mountain Ward have been called to serve in the Maryland Baltimore Mission. They will report to the MTC on April 16, 2018
. They will speak in the Shadow Mountain Ward on Sunday, March 25th at 9:00 am.
• Noah Spencer of the Granite Reef Ward has been called to serve in the Scotland/Ireland Mission. He will report to the England MTC on May 16, 2018.
• Danyon Gedris of the Granite Reef Ward has been called to server in the Texas McAllen Spanish Speaking Mission. He will report to the Mexico MTC on June 26.
RETURNING MISSIONARIES
• Natalie Orr of the Granite Reef Ward returned from serving in the Iowa Des Moines Mission on March 2nd. She will speak in the Granite Reef Ward on Sunday, March 11th at 1:00 pm
