MOUNTAIN VIEW WARD
PARADISE VALLEY ARIZONA STAKE
July 24, 2016
Bishop Taylor 602-743-4655
3601 East Shea Boulevard - Phoenix, Arizona 85028
Sacrament Meeting 11:00

We may not have crossed the plains as ‪‎pioneers‬ ourselves, and we may struggle with a ‪‎faith‬ that has not been tested enough, or too much. But we must all find our own trail of sacrifice, struggle, and determination to reach the Promised Land of eternity. We must have the same conviction of the pioneers to stand against the difficulty of the world, striving to prove faithful, believing that families can truly be together forever.
Can we do it? Yes, we can!

Deborah Inman - Spoke about the topic of Education in the
For the Strength of Youth Pamphlet
Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.

Education is an important part of Heavenly Father’s plan to help you become more like Him. He wants you to educate your mind and to develop your skills and talents, your power to act well in your responsibilities, and your capacity to appreciate life. The education you gain will be valuable to you during mortality and in the life to come.

We had the wonderful opportunity to hear from
Brooke Esplin as she  reported on her mission

Brooke reminded us ......

Brooke shared lessons learned on her mission

1. My Heavenly Father loves me and knows me perfectly
Hebrews 12:7
D&C 105:6

2. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the best medicine.
2 Nephi 31
Brooke encouraged us to ponder this chapter in Nephi verse by verse

3. Charity ❤️
1 Corinthians 13

Sacrament Meeting
Robert Inman has just turned 12 years old and has been ordain a deacon and today he gave his first sacrament meeting talk. Robert did a wonderful job as he shared many important thoughts on "Gratitude"

He who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious.                          Doctrine and Covenants 78:19
Kristan Paolacci spoke on the commandments. "Brothers and Sisters we live in perilous times. This week our eyes have once again been opened to the fact that life is fragile, peace is fragile, civilization itself is fragile. But I still believe that love and obedience is the key to be able to feel peace and not allow ourselves to be consumed in hatred for the senseless acts of others.   Our strength comes from obedience to the commandments of God. If all mankind would just start by living the Ten Commandments, we would have self-respect, peace, love, and happiness on this earth."

David Hettinger spoke on Free Agency and the Plan of Happiness
He referenced a talk by Elder Robert D. Hales

Neal A Maxwell "only by aligning our wills with God’s is full happiness to be found. Anything less results in a lesser portion (see Alma 12:10–11). The Lord will work with us even if, at first, we “can no more than desire” but are willing to “give place for a portion of [His] words” (Alma 32:27). A small foothold is all He needs! But we must desire and provide it."
